A Development Project Manager I is responsible for supporting delivery teams by utilizing agile and/or traditional project practices including leading team meetings, implementing best practices, removing or escalating impediments, reporting metrics, driving team projects, and coaching teams to high performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and facilitate 1 or more delivery teams and assist with project completion.
  • Coach teams toward high performance by implementing Best Practices, ensuring alignment and balance between stakeholder and the Delivery Team, creating a safe environment for teams to work together, staying educated on new tactics and strategies, and identifying, implementing, and measuring process improvements.
  • Provide transparency into projects and processes across the organization using documentation and tooling.
  • Track, analyze, and present team-based metrics to management.
  • Track, manage, remove, and escalate impediments with assistance from the team lead as appropriate.
  • Communicate team/process successes and needs with management regularly and call them to action when needed.
  • Assist with the coordination of dependencies with shared resources. Coordinate with agile teams and/or shared resources to ensure time management and expectations are met for each project.
  • Focus on process improvements, team dynamics, reporting, and progress.
  • Track team maintenance frequently to provide correct and consistent updates to leadership.
  • Generate work items following the classification guidelines and naming conventions and track progress. Create and maintain item tracker issues and ensure that all relevant data is kept up to date (descriptions, estimated development time, approval source, scheduling, assignments, etc.). Monitor the progress of projects to ensure they will be completed on time.
  • Leverage Jira query functionality to quickly gain project status clarity and be able to disseminate this information to delivery teams as well as leadership
Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Experience:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience leading teams or projects

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and discernment skills.
  • Can easily adapt and learn new software systems and technology.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to manage projects and teams with confidence.
