Job summary

Center for Digital Government seeks an Assistant Director of Planning and Zoning - Development to oversee the Development Division within the Office of Planning and Zoning. The role requires directing programs, budgeting, and staff, with strong leadership and collaboration across county stakeholders.

The position involves guiding strategic plans, coordinating with the Planning and Zoning Officer, and ensuring efficient operations and policy implementation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in public or business administration, planning, or a related field.
• Six (6) or more years of experience in public administration, planning, development and enforcement of regulations, including four (4) or more years of supervisory experience.
• Valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing development review programs and activities.
• Participate in establishing department goals, objectives and priorities.
• Lead development of organizational structure and staffing in the Development Division.
• Supervise staff and ensure budgetary compliance.
• Represent the department at community meetings and hearings.
• Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
