Job summary

The New York Historical is seeking an Assistant Director in the Development Department to lead the Tessitura donor database, reporting, and analytics. You will supervise gift processing, collaborate with Finance, and drive data-driven fundraising initiatives in a leading cultural institution.

You will work under the Vice President for Development, shaping strategies for annual giving, memberships, grants, and events while ensuring data integrity and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Tessitura experience with reports, dashboards, analytics, campaigns and modules.
• Highly organized with ability to manage long-term assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
• Meticulous attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and oversight of donor database (Tessitura) and gift processing.
• Lead Tessitura reporting, dashboards, and custom reports to track fundraising progress.
• Coordinate with Finance; reconcile gift accounting on a set schedule.
• Develop data-driven insights, analytics, and predictive insights for fundraising.
• Supervise gift processor and ensure timely gift booking and quality control.
• Document SOPs for development operations and oversee process improvements.
