Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Development Operations Engineer 1 for Fort Meade, Maryland to support a 24/7/365 watchfloor environment.

You will act as the SPOC, log and prioritize incidents, and ensure timely resolution while documenting troubleshooting steps in the knowledge base. The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and four years of related experience in deployments, Linux administration, containerization, and DevSecOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science required; four years' experience can substitute for degree.
• Recent Kubernetes, cluster orchestration, and containerization experience.
• Experience with Linux system administration and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland

Description:

Provide Tier I/II support for the integrated watchfloor capability within a 24×7/365 operational environment.

Serve as single point of contact (SPOC) between the service provider and operational users.

Capture, log, categorize, and prioritize all incidents via a standardized ticketing system.

Cover the watch floor when not elsewhere.

Perform initial diagnosis using established knowledge bases and incident models.

Attempt first-contact resolution for standard issues (password resets, account access, basic navigation, known errors).

Escalate unresolved incidents to Tier II support via functional escalation procedures.

Maintain incident status communication with users throughout the resolution lifecycle.

Document all troubleshooting steps and resolution actions to populate and expand the knowledge base.

Provide 24/7/365 coverage via rotating 12-hour shifts (0500 and 1700 daily), aligning with 2-week rotation schedules.

DEVOPS1 Qualifications:

Four (4) years' experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps.

Recent experience within the last three (3) years in Kubernetes, cluster orchestration, and containerization.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science.

May substitute four years' experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.

May substitute two years' experience with a Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

Salary Range: $166k-$203k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
