Job summary

Great Lakes Center for the Arts seeks a Development Officer to grow philanthropic support across Northern Michigan. This hybrid role focuses on major gifts and corporate partnerships, managing a 125+ donor portfolio and collaborating with leadership to advance fundraising priorities.

The ideal candidate strengthens donor relationships, creates compelling proposals, and coordinates stewardship events, while traveling for meetings and performances as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of development, advancement, sales, or fundraising experience.
• Experience cultivating and soliciting philanthropic support from individuals or corporations.
• Experience managing a donor portfolio and using moves-management principles.
• Experience using CRM or donor database systems.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 125+ donors and prospects; cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts.
• Develop strategies to retain, renew, and increase philanthropic support.
• Coordinate donor visits, meetings, and communications with leadership.
• Grow Corporate Circle through partnerships and sponsorships.
• Maintain donor records and prepare reports in the donor database.
• Support donor events and experiences to deepen engagement.
• Travel for donor meetings and organizational activities as needed.
