Job summary

Northwest MI Habitat For Humanity is seeking a Gift Officer in Michigan to expand the major and mid-level gift portfolio through face-to-face relationship development, cultivation, and solicitation, in partnership with the Director of Development and the donor services team.

The role emphasizes a donor-centered experience, planned giving support, and stewardship to deepen commitment to affordable housing in northern Michigan.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in nonprofit fundraising or major gifts.
• Bachelor's degree required; CFRE/CFRM is a plus.
• Proficiency with donor management software and strong written communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active portfolio of 75–125 major and mid-level gift prospects and donors.
• Develop cultivation and solicitation strategies with the Director of Development.
• Prepare tailored gift proposals and solicit gifts face-to-face, in writing, or by phone.
• Provide post-gift stewardship and donor updates.
