JDC (The Joint) is seeking an entrepreneurial Development Officer to spearhead a new fundraising channel, engaging Jewish schools, synagogues, and organizations across New York and beyond. You will build partnerships, tell compelling stories, and drive donor engagement to advance campaigns.

The role blends relationship-building, campaign support, and event planning, with a hands-on approach to growing a portfolio of supporters and collaborating with the Campaign Director and Resource Development

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of fundraising, community relations experience with donor engagement success.
• Strong knowledge and connections within the New York Jewish community (schools, synagogues, community networks).
• Ability to navigate Jewish spaces across cultures and denominations.
• Excellent relationship building, listening, communication, and public speaking skills to engage diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a targeted outreach strategy to build a donor pipeline in New York and beyond.
• Lead awareness and fundraising initiatives for JDC’s mission within Jewish communities.
• Identify and solicit small to mid-level gifts from individuals, schools, synagogues, and partners.
• Plan and execute events, presentations, and engagement opportunities to increase support.
• Represent JDC at community events, meetings, and relevant forums.
• Provide support in the development and execution of new fundraising campaigns.
