Job summary

Homeless Remedies, Inc. in New York is seeking a seasoned development professional to lead our fundraising program focused on major donor cultivation, donor stewardship, and building durable relationships with supporters.

You will work closely with the CEO, COO, and board, set annual goals, chair the fundraising committee, and coordinate events with Marketing. Strong communication and network-building skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fund development with major and individual donor cultivation.
• Excellent written and verbal relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain working relationships with the CEO, COO, and board to increase fundraising effectiveness.
• Research and develop strategies to attract major and high-level individual donors.
• Identify new fundraising opportunities among individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Proactively cultivate ongoing donor relationships through personal contact and information sharing.
• Coordinate with Marketing Manager on fundraising events and program-specific support.
• Chair the fundraising committee and lead fundraising strategy and coordination.
• Create a donor recognition program for donors of all types and amounts.
• Set quarterly and annual fundraising goals.
• Develop and maintain a tracking system of donors, events, and goals.
• Prioritize communication with board members regarding donors and potential donors.

Experience Preferred:

• Preferred 5 or more years of fund development experience including substantial experience in finding, cultivating, and soliciting major donors and individual donors.
• Excellent written and verbal relationship management communication skills

Essential Duties:

• Establish and sustain working relationships with Homeless Remedies Inc.’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and the board of directors members to increase the effectiveness of all fundraising activities.
• Research and develop strategies to increase the relationship-building required to attract major donors and high-level individual donors.
• Ascertain new fundraising opportunities. Identify individuals, corporations, and foundations likely to donate and gift giving.
• Proactively cultivate ongoing donor relationships through personal contact and other ongoing forms of information sharing.
• Develop, and coordinate with Homeless Remedies Inc.’s Marketing Manager fundraising activities to provide special events and program-specific support.
• Chair the fundraising committee: provide the leadership, strategic direction, management, and coordination of fundraising efforts to maximize fundraising opportunities.
• Create a donor recognition program, offering meaningful recognition for donors of all types and all amounts.
• Set quarterly and annual goals.
• Develop and maintain a tracking system of fundraising donors, events, and goals.
• Prioritize communication with board members regarding donors and potential donors to advance development initiatives.
