Job summary

Playworks NY-NJ seeks a Development Manager reporting to the Executive Director to drive the organization's fund development strategy across grants, sponsorships, and partnerships in the NY-NJ region.

The role oversees development operations, grant writing, stewardship, Salesforce, and donor relations, coordinating with national teams while remaining accountable to the Executive Director for regional priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and securing grants from foundations, corporations, and government.
• Experience managing the full grant lifecycle from prospect research through reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to tailor content to organizational voice.

Responsibilities

• Lead grant writing and submission of proposals, LOIs, and funding requests.
• Manage the full grant lifecycle including prospect research, development, submission, reporting, and renewal planning.
• Maintain grants calendar ensuring timely submissions and stewardship activities.
• Coordinate with program and leadership staff to gather budgets and outcomes for proposals.
• Develop narratives that communicate Playworks’ mission and funding priorities.
