Job summary

Action1 is seeking a Dev Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for Executive Reporting and to combine leadership with hands-on technical work in order to deliver reliable reports and dashboards. You will guide the reporting stack from data aggregation to scheduling and export workflows, helping customers understand patching and vulnerability trends over time.

You will coordinate with Product and security stakeholders, own automated pipelines, and drive improvements in reporting

Qualifications

  • Experience leading software engineers and owning delivery of production systems.
  • Strong software fundamentals and ability to contribute to technical problem-solving.
  • Excellent knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and operating AWS services in production.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling, aggregation, and query performance.
  • Understanding of historical data, metric consistency, and data-quality validation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and regular feedback.
  • Own delivery outcomes within the agreed scope, provide practical estimates, and make capacity and priority trade-offs visible.
  • Work with Product Management and the EVP to define priorities and translate customer needs into executive reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, development, and operation of reporting capabilities, including historical reporting on patches and vulnerabilities, the Enterprise Reports Engine, and dashboard services.
  • Coordinate with Product Value and core engineering teams on source data, reporting content, access controls, and shared infrastructure.
  • Own automated pipelines for building, testing, validating, and deploying reporting services.
  • Improve reporting accuracy, query performance, reliability, and observability as customer data volumes grow.
  • Apply AI technologies where they improve reporting development, validation, or interpretation.

We are looking for a Dev Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for Executive Reporting.

You will combine engineering leadership with hands-on technical expertise to help customers understand patching and vulnerability trends over timethrough reliable reports and dashboards.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and regular feedback.
  • Own delivery outcomes within the agreed scope, provide practical estimates, and make capacity and priority trade-offs visible.
  • Work with Product Management and the EVP to define priorities and translate customer needs into executive reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, development, and operation of reporting capabilities, including:

- Historical reporting on patches and vulnerabilities.

- The Enterprise Reports Engine and reusable report execution capabilities.

- Dashboard services for presenting trends and status to decision-makers.

- Data aggregation and consistent calculation of reporting metrics.

- Report generation, scheduling, and export workflows.

  • Guide technical decisions within the assigned domain, from solution design through development and production rollout, while coordinating cross-cutting architecture and security decisions with their designated owners.
  • Establish clear definitions for metrics, reporting periods, data freshness, and missing data so customers can interpret results accurately.
  • Coordinate with Product Value and core engineering teams on source data, reporting content, access controls, and shared infrastructure.
  • Own automated pipelines for building, testing, validating, and deploying reporting services.
  • Improve reporting accuracy, query performance, reliability, and observability as customer data volumes grow.
  • Apply AI technologies where they improve reporting development, validation, or interpretation.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Experience leading software engineers and owning the delivery and operation of production systems.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to contribute to technical problem-solving.
  • Excellent knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and operating AWS services in production.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting platforms, analytics services, or data-intensive applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling, aggregation, and query performance.
  • Understanding of historical data, metric consistency, and data-quality validation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align engineering work with product priorities.
  • Professional working proficiency in English for leading an English-speaking team and collaborating across functions.

Nice to have:

  • Experience writing automated tests for data pipelines, reporting calculations, and report generation.
  • Experience with dashboard engines, scheduled reporting, and large data exports.
  • Experience with patch management or vulnerability reporting.
  • Experience with runtime isolation and sandboxing for sensitive execution.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, security, compliance, or data governance.
  • Experience building high-load products that support large numbers of endpoints.
