Job summary

Youth Villages is seeking a Development Manager to help drive fundraising strategy and donor stewardship across our Development team. You will support the annual plan, manage donor engagement, and help steward major donors to increase giving.

You will work with Salesforce and MS Office to maintain data integrity and generate insights for decisions, while coordinating events including gala fundraisers. A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of experience are required.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fundraising strategy and donor stewardship plans.
  • Support annual development plan execution.
  • Assist in creating tiered donor stewardship for retention and increased giving.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major ($1,000+) donors.
  • Support fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
  • Ensure data integrity and effective relationship management across donor records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Development Manager:
  • Fundraising Strategy & Donor Stewardship Serves as an active member of the Development team, contributing to long‑term strategic planning and day‑to‑day execution of departmental initiatives
  • Supports the implementation, execution, and evaluation of the annual development plan
  • Assists the Director of Development in creating, implementing, and managing a tiered stewardship program to support donor retention and increased giving
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards Champion‑level ($1,000+) donors (including individuals and businesses)
  • Provides support for all additional activities required to meet and exceed Youth Villages annual fundraising goals
  • Oversees and supports projects related to fundraising and donor engagement
  • Fundraising Operations Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of donor and prospect data, supporting high‑quality relationship management and strategic decision‑making
  • Develops and maintains processes that enhance efficiency across fundraising activities
  • Monitors and recommends emerging trends and best practices into donor engagement strategies and departmental systems
  • Develops, refines, and maintains internal systems that support pipeline management, stewardship tracking, and donor insights
  • Utilizes reports to inform strategy, track performance, and guide portfolio management
  • Events & Campaign Management Provides support and executes fundraising, cultivation, and recognition events (including annual gala)
  • Adheres to all corporate sponsorship benefits and deliverables connected to events, initiatives and any other funding needs that arise
Additional Information

The ideal candidate excels at building strong donor relationships, managing campaigns and events, and ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the development region’s operational systems—including day‑to‑day data entry and reporting.

Salary

$85,000-$100,000 per year based on education and experience

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience (required)
  • Proficiency in Salesforce (plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discrete manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with donors, corporate partners, board members, colleagues, and the general public
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule (including some weeknights and weekends)
