Job description

Position Summary

Abundant Futures Fund (AFF) is seeking a highly-organized, detail-oriented Development Manager to help build and sustain a best-in-class fundraising operation. Housed at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), AFF brings together philanthropic partners to make strategic, collaborative investments that strengthen the immigrant rights ecosystem.

The Development Manager will play a central role in supporting AFF’s fundraising efforts while serving as a key liaison with RPA. This includes coordinating development operations, gift processing and reconciliation, financial reporting, compliance, and donor administration in close partnership with RPA and AFF’s finance and operations partners. This role will serve as the operational backbone of the development team, ensuring that donors receive an exceptional experience while supporting prospect development, fundraising events, stewardship, and dayto-day development operations.

The ideal candidate thrives behind the scenes, enjoys building systems and processes, loves keeping projects moving, and is excited to contribute to a growing organization working to advance immigrant justice.

About AFF

Abundant Futures Fund was created to expand philanthropic support for the movement for immigrant justice in the United States. Recognizing both the enormous need and the reality that immigrant justice receives only a small share of annual philanthropic funding, AFF brings donors together to invest in long-term systems change. As a donor collaborative, AFF does not implement programs directly. Instead, it convenes donors, aggregates philanthropic capital, and grants resources strategically to nonprofits across the country. You can read about AFF here: https://abundantfuturesfund.org/.

Primary Responsibilities
Development Operations
  • Manage day-to-day fundraising operations and administrative systems.
  • Coordinate with RPA and other external partners on development operations.
  • Track incoming donations end-to-end, from notification through reconciliation.
  • Keep shared files and folders organized and up to date.
  • Document and improve development processes and workflows.
  • Work closely with RPA’s finance team and finance consulting firm to ensure accurate gift processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Support annual budgeting and fundraising revenue tracking.
  • Maintain fundraising calendars, deadlines, and project management systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
Database & CRM Management
  • Serve as the primary administrator for AFF’s CRM.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records.
  • Process gifts and pledges in a timely manner.
  • Update contact information and constituent records.
  • Record donor interactions and meeting notes.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and fundraising metrics for staff and leadership.
  • Regularly audit database quality and implement improvements to ensure clean, reliable data.
Donor Stewardship
  • Draft and coordinate donor correspondence, partnering with AFF's writer as needed while owning timelines and follow-through.
  • Track and move forward grant proposals and reports through their full lifecycle, from submission requirements to final delivery.
  • Track stewardship activities to ensure timely follow-up and meaningful donor engagement.
  • Collect impact stories from the grantmaking team for donor communications and meetings.

  • Support personalized stewardship plans for key donors.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for donor and prospect meetings.
Prospect Research & Pipeline Management
  • Conduct donor and prospect research.
  • Maintain prospect tracking systems and pipeline reports.
  • Build and maintain donor and prospect profiles, including capacity, giving history, and alignment, and prepare briefings and background materials for meetings.
  • Help ensure timely follow-up on cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Events & Donor Experiences
  • Coordinate fundraising events and donor engagement opportunities, from small gatherings to mid-size donor experiences.
  • Own end-to-end logistics and execution of events, including invitations, RSVPs, briefing materials, and follow-up.
  • Partner with the Director, Senior Advisor, and Executive Director on framing and content.
