Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida seeks a Development Manager to join our Development team and lead donor relations, data maintenance, and major fundraising events.

You will cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors, manage gifts in our CRM, and coordinate with the Marketing and Programs teams on donor benefits and involvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of fundraising or related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe applications.
  • Experience utilizing donor CRM systems; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.

POSITION INFORMATION

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Manager participates in all aspects of Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida (GSTF) development operations, external fundraising, donor relations, and special events.

The Development Manager is responsible for cultivating, managing, and stewarding an active portfolio of current and prospective donors. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, database and operational expertise, event management experience, an affinity for networking, and a passion for connecting community supporters with the Girl Scout mission.

The Development Manager reports to the Director of Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Management — 25%
  • Partners with the Director of Development to implement the existing GSTF fundraising strategy and serves as a key partner in the development of future fundraising strategies.
  • Manages a portfolio of corporate, individual, and local government donors; cultivates and solicits new donors and reestablishes relationships with lapsed donors.
  • Is responsible for achieving corporate, individual, and government revenue targets established in the GSTF annual fundraising plan and agreed upon with the Director of Development.
  • Oversees communications and stewardship for the Second Century Partner and Trefoil Society programs. Coordinates with the Marketing and Communications Department on implementation of donor benefits.
  • Collaborates with the Program Department to identify and coordinate opportunities for donor involvement with Girl Scout programs.
  • Represents GSTF at community events throughout Miami-Dade County.
Data Management — 35%
  • Enters, tracks, and updates donor and prospect records in the CRM database.
  • Manages gift processing within the CRM database.
  • Ensures timely acknowledgment of gifts.
  • Creates and generates standard and customized reports to track proposals, donor touchpoints, and annual fundraising goals.
  • Leads ad hoc database-related projects, including CRM conversions, with assistance from the technical support team as needed.
Campfires to Cocktails Management — 40%
  • Oversees and manages all aspects of GSTF’s primary fundraising event, including planning, budgeting, auction activities, vendors, sponsors, and attendees.
  • Manages, organizes, and motivates the event volunteer committee and staff responsible for planning and executing the event.
  • Coordinates with the Communications Department on event marketing materials and communications.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
  • Minimum of three years of fundraising or related experience preferred.
Education and Training

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the Girl Scout mission, values, and culture, or willingness to learn and embrace them.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe applications.
  • Experience utilizing database systems, including donor CRM systems; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS
  • Annual membership with Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is required.
  • Valid, unencumbered driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance are required.
  • May require occasional evening and weekend work based on fundraising activities, events, and business needs.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills preferred.
