Job description

MarketStreet Enterprises is seeking an experienced Development Manager to oversee the execution of commercial real estate development projects from concept through stabilization. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5+ years of development experience, strong financial and project management skills, and a proven ability to coordinate internal teams and external consultants to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of the development process, including feasibility analysis, underwriting, entitlements, design, construction, lease-up and stabilization
• Prepare and maintain detailed development budgets, schedules, and financial models
• Coordinate and manage third-party consultants including architects, engineers, contractors, attorneys, and municipal agencies
• Lead due diligence efforts for acquisitions, zoning analysis, environmental reviews, and cost estimating
• Oversee entitlement, permitting, and approval processes with local jurisdictions
• Collaborate with leasing, asset management, and capital markets teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Monitor construction progress, review pay applications and change orders, and manage risk mitigation
• Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and lender/investor requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus)
• 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate development, construction management, or related roles
• Experience with office, retail, multifamily, or mixed-use development projects
• Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills
• Working knowledge of zoning, entitlements, construction processes, and development agreements
• Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with Argus, MS Project, or similar tools preferred
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
