Job summary

Atlanta Housing seeks a Development Executive to lead multi-phase, mixed-use real estate projects focused on revitalizing former public housing sites. The role will manage feasibility, predevelopment planning, financing, and coordination through construction to occupancy, coordinating with multiple departments and community groups.

The position requires eight years of real estate development experience, strong underwriting skills, and extensive stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Real Estate, Business Administration or related field.
• Master's degree in City Planning, Urban Development or related field is desirable.
• Eight years' experience in real estate development of mixed-use, multifamily mixed-income and affordable housing is required.
• Experience with public housing funding, tax increment financing, project based rental assistance, bond proceeds and other federal/state funding opportunities is required.
• Experience with community engagement is required.
• Experience with government environment or not-for-profit community development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, coordinates and implements major community and economic development plans, and neighborhood revitalization efforts for a portfolio of real estate assets.
• Ensures compliance with city, state and federal policies across varied developments.
• Manages all phases from feasibility to occupancy and transfer to asset management.
• Keeps senior leadership apprised of progress and policy considerations.
• Drafts regulatory requests, tax credit applications, memorandums, and grant materials.
• Coordinates with Resident Services, Asset Management, Legal, Procurement, and Finance during closing.
• Engages residents and community groups to advance development objectives.
• Prepares presentations for Board approvals and community meetings.
