Job summary

MVW Headquarters seeks a Senior Manager, Development Accounting to own financial management, accounting, and reporting for development and refurbishment portfolios. You will ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, coordinating with A&CPM teams and audits to support strategic decisions.

The role requires 7+ years in accounting/finance with 3+ years in management, real estate or construction exposure, and proficiency in Excel, Blackline, PeopleSoft GL, and PMWeb.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Knowledge of real estate development or construction industry.
• Basic understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act 404.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage accurate and timely project budgeting and forecasting for assigned portfolios.
• Review and approve contracts, change orders and related financial diligence with policy approvals.
• Supervise payments to contractors and consultants and monitor expenditures.
• Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliant controls within Development Accounting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Reconcile Development balance sheet accounts monthly using Blackline.
• Compare PS General Ledger Job Cost to PMWeb forecasts or Excel worksheets.
• Coordinate with project management on Refurbishment Service Agreement recognition in P&L.
• Develop refurbishment forecast and budget inputs for management billing.
• Provide Development capex updates and cost reporting for LRPs/Budgets.
• Lead the accounting team in improving reporting tools and processes.
• Identify opportunities to monitor and reduce project product cost.
• Analyze contractor bids for financial risk to the project.
• Attend Project Status Reporting meetings covering issues, schedule, costs, and forecasts.
• Train and mentor Development Accounting Manager with feedback.
• Submit project ID requests to HCL as needed.
• Support general accounting activities including journal entries and VAT review.
• Assist with audit questions and documentation.
• Perform financial analysis to support managerial decisions and special projects.
