Job summary

City of Burleson, TX is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead programs and activities related to private development review. The role coordinates with customers and internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track and ensure compliance.

You will regularly report on program and project activities, forecasts, and accomplishments, and may supervise assigned staff. A PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within six months is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Six years of progressively responsible experience in development review engineering, public works engineering, or other related field.
• Four years of experience reviewing construction plans, plats, site plans, and zoning.
• Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

Responsibilities

• This position manages and plans programs and activities related to private development review.
• Coordinates with customers and other internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
• Regularly reports on overall program and individual project/case activities, accomplishments, and forecasts.
• This position may have assigned direct or indirect supervisory functions of assigned staff.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

Six years of progressive experience in development review/public works engineering or related field

Four years of experience reviewing construction plans, plats, site plans and zoning
