The City of Tukwila’s Department of Community Development seeks an Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team and guide growth through codes, plans, and reviews. You will work with the Community Development and Public Works Directors to ensure private development meets our standards and the community’s vision.

Responsibilities include directing staff, managing budgets, ensuring legal compliance, and representing the city at meetings.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; seven years of engineering experience with five years in supervision.
• WA PE license required within six months of hire; valid WA driver's license.
• Experience with municipal public works, code enforcement, and development review is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, organize, direct, and manage the engineering workgroup and staff.
• Set goals and priorities; provide direction, training, and leadership to engineering staff.
• Oversee development review, civil construction, regulatory compliance, and inspections.
• Manage consultant contracts and multi‑jurisdiction coordination.
• Present to boards, commissions, and City Council as needed.
