Job summary

The City of Waco is seeking a Development Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for planning, design, analysis, and execution of development projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Under general supervision, you will manage operations, review calculations, prepare annual budget, and coordinate with city staff and external partners to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
• Texas Driver’s License is required.
• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 5+ years multidisciplinary management experience in engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manages a team of professional engineers and technical staff overseeing planning, design, analysis and execution of engineering projects.
• Reviews and coordinates development projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Reviews, signs, and seals engineering calculations and designs as required by regulatory and professional licensure.
• Develops staff through training, guidance, and performance goals.
• Plans and manages annual operating budget for the division.
• Coordinates with city staff and external parties for project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
