Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering is seeking a Development Specialist to provide administrative and operational support to the development team. The role oversees endowment processes, ensures compliance, and helps implement best practices.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will supervise the Development Associate, coordinate with campus partners, prepare donor materials, and assist with recognition activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, management or related field.
• One year of experience in specialized development, administration, or related field.
• Experience providing administrative or operational support to a multi-faceted team.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically, work under pressure, and manage several projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support to the Cockrell Development Team.
• Coordinate travel arrangements, reimbursements, and travel documents.
• Develop donor profiles and briefing materials for meetings and events.
• Draft letters, proposals, reports for major donors and prospects.
• Support endowment creation, compliance and record keeping.
• Assist with maintenance of donor information in VIP system; supervise staff as needed.
• Coordinate with university departments for donor visits and events.
