Job summary

The American Alpine Club is seeking a Development Director to lead AAC's fundraising strategy across individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, and grants. You will personally manage major donor prospects, supervise a small team, and work with Finance to forecast and report revenue growth.

Reporting to the VP of Advancement, the role emphasizes donor stewardship, strategic planning, and cross‑functional collaboration to strengthen AAC’s philanthropic capacity and long‑term

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with staff supervision.
• CFRE certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and close five- and six-figure gifts.
• Experience designing and executing a comprehensive development strategy and managing a development budget.
• Strong planning, organizational, and donor-centered mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute a comprehensive development strategy aligned with AAC's priorities and revenue targets.
• Grow revenue across individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and grants.
• Develop and refine donor policies, procedures, and stewardship programs.
• Lead the development budget, forecasting, and reporting in partnership with Finance and Operations.
