Job summary

Korean American Community Foundation seeks a Director of Development to lead individual giving and major gift strategy in New York and support growth nationally. Working with the President, VP of Development, and the Board, the Director will mobilize resources to achieve fundraising results that ensure growth and sustainability for KACF.

The role includes managing major donors, developing cultivation and moves management strategies, and collaborating on events with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8-10 years of development experience, including frontline fundraising and direct donor engagement.
• Experience with high net worth individuals and New York philanthropic landscape.
• Ability to lead a team and collaborate with executive leadership.
• Willingness to travel for donor meetings and cultivation events.
• Strong donor communications and moves management experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the VP of Development to create and implement annual and longer-term development plans.
• Manage a portfolio of major donors, fostering deep relationships and cultivation strategies.
• Partner with the President, VP of Development, and Associate Director of Events to engage major donors in events.
• Craft compelling cases for support and donor pitches to inspire major gifts.
• Identify and cultivate major donor prospects and lead moves management with staff support.
• Represent KACF at events and serve as ambassador for the foundation.
• Lead the development team and supervise the Development Associate.
