Job summary

New Narrative in Portland, Oregon seeks a Development Director to lead our private fundraising program, build relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, sponsors, and foundations, and turn connections into meaningful support.

In this hands-on role you’ll oversee the donor pipeline, cultivation, and solicitation, direct annual giving, Give!Guide, sponsorships, and major events while supervising the Development team and collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4–5 years of fundraising or revenue-generation experience.
• Proven success cultivating and soliciting individual donors, corporate partners, or sponsors.
• Experience with donor cultivation and stewardship programs.
• Strong relationship-building and prospecting skills.
• Experience using CRM and project-management tools.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead private fundraising program and develop donor pipeline.
