Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Development Director for the Baltimore, MD area. This role focuses on generating revenue for the Heart Challenge campaign, including Heart Walk events, with a three-person team. The position is home-office based with daily travel in the Baltimore metro area.

It offers a base salary plus incentives up to 25% of base pay and comprehensive benefits. You will collaborate with fundraising staff, volunteers, and internal partners to meet revenue targets and

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant fundraising, sales, or equivalent experience.
• Daily local travel up to 75%; reliable transportation required.
• Ability to lift and move large objects; heavier items may need assistance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by researching campaign goals and the Association’s mission.
• Develop and present proposals and materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
• Recruit corporate team participation in Heart Walk and empower team members to fundraise.
• Lead and engage new individual membership for Cor Vitae giving society; plan and host regular engagement events.
• Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
