Job summary

The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) in San Francisco seeks a Director of Development to lead fundraising and strategic communications for CAAM’s diverse constituency. This full-time, exempt leadership role manages a staff of two and reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities include creating and executing a fundraising plan with the Director and Board, managing major gifts, annual fund, grants, corporate sponsorships, events, and donor communications.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in development for non-profits.
• Proven success in fundraising with strategic execution within resource limits.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with foundations, corporations, and individuals.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong managerial ability to build and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and implementation of fundraising plans with the Executive Director, development staff, and Board Development Committee
• Manage major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, corporate support, events, and capital campaigns
• Oversee grant seeking and grant writing efforts
• Support Executive Director in securing financial resources
• Identify and steward relationships with foundations, corporations, and individuals
• Manage donor relationships and track engagements
• Develop organization-wide communications protocols, messages, and materials
• Oversee creation of marketing materials and external messages to funders and the public
• Hire, train, and supervise development staff
• Support Board to fulfill development goals and facilitate board meetings
