Job summary

SVARA seeks a Director of Development to lead all fundraising efforts, including foundations, corporations, individuals, and digital giving, with a focus on building a major gifts program and diversifying donor bases in LGBTQ+ communities.

The DOD will design and execute development plans, supervise staff and volunteers, collaborate with the ED and board, and manage external communications to advance SVARA’s mission of empowering queer and trans people through Talmud study and inclusive Jewish

Qualifications

Passion for SVARA’s mission and ability to serve as an ambassador.
Proven track record in fundraising, including securing major gifts.
Experience building a major gifts program and engaging diverse donor groups.
Strong written and verbal communication and board relations skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive annual development plan in collaboration with the ED and Board.
Lead fundraising campaigns, donor events, and cultivation activities.
Manage contractors, volunteers, and interns to achieve development goals.
Oversee donor cultivation, stewardship, and reporting to leadership and board.
Collaborate with Communications on development-related marketing materials.
