Job summary

Refugee Artisan Initiative is seeking a Development Director to lead fundraising, grants, marketing, communications, and events, driving $1,000,000+ annually while strengthening community relationships in the Seattle area.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will supervise development staff, cultivate major donors, manage foundations, government and corporate partners, and guide strategic growth with proactive leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional fundraising and development experience.
• Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts ($10k+; $1M+ total).
• Strong connections in the greater Seattle area preferred.
• Experience with Bonterra or Salesforce CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy targeting $1,000,000+ annually.
• Lead major gifts, individual giving, grants, corporate partnerships, and events.
• Direct marketing, communications, and brand strategy for visibility in Seattle philanthropy.
• Plan signature fundraising events and community engagement activities.
• Manage department budget, ROI tracking, and financial projections.
• Supervise 2 development staff and foster a high-performing team.
• Engage the board and report fundraising metrics to leadership and board.
• Maintain donor database, generate strategic reports for decision-making.
