Job summary

Chattanooga Preparatory School in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Director of Development to lead day‑to‑day fundraising and build a sustainable development program aligned with the school's mission.

Reporting to the CEO, this role owns donor pipeline, grant strategy, and development operations while collaborating with Grant Writer and Marketing to advance the school's goals.

Success is measured by dollars raised, donor retention, new donors, and growth of revenue through annual giving and campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; five+ years in fundraising or development.
  • Proven success cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
  • Experience building donor pipelines and using CRM systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel or attend events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan aligned with revenue goals.
  • Identify and qualify new prospects and grow the donor pipeline.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors through meetings and proposals.
  • Partner with CEO and Grant Writer; coordinate with Marketing.
  • Manage grants calendar and reporting.
  • Oversee development operations and donor records.
  • Lead events and campaigns to drive revenue.
  • Provide regular reporting on fundraising performance.
