Job summary

Arc Herkimer is seeking a Fund Development Director to lead fundraising and development activities, strengthening the organization’s impact for people and families served. The role focuses on building relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners, and coordinating campaigns and grants to diversify funding.

The position requires 5+ years in fund development, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
• 5+ years of fund development, fundraising, or nonprofit development experience.
• CFRE credential preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong persuasion, negotiation, organization, and time-management skills.
• Budget and financial management experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement Arc Herkimer's annual fundraising and development plan.
• Build and grow relationships with individual donors, major donors, businesses, foundations, and community partners.
• Lead efforts in major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and fundraising campaigns.
• Identify new funding opportunities and develop a strong, diverse donor pipeline.
• Coordinate fundraising events, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
• Research and coordinate grant opportunities, submissions, reporting, and compliance.
• Partner with the Board of Directors and volunteers to strengthen fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with PR staff to create engaging donor communications, appeals, newsletters, annual reports, and impact stories.
• Track fundraising budgets, revenue, expenses, donor records, and performance.
• Represent Arc Herkimer throughout the community and build partnerships that increase awareness and support.
