Job summary

Christian Academy School System in Louisville seeks a Development Director to lead our fundraising program and advance the school’s mission. This full-time, year-round role designs strategies to secure philanthropic support and manages a personal solicitation program.

Responsibilities include overseeing annual giving, capital campaigns, major gifts (>$10,000), donor relations, grant research, and collaboration with the Development team and system offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in nonprofit or business management.
• 2+ years nonprofit or fundraising experience preferred.
• Minimum five years fundraising experience with demonstrated results.
• Experience designing and managing development programs/strategies.
• Experience building productive donor relationships with board, donors, parents, admins, faculty.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Grant writing and research experience.
• Ability to lead and collaborate in a team.
• Experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge or similar).
• Proactive, accountable, discerning, and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Create, inspire, and maintain donor interest, loyalty, enthusiasm, and engagement.
• Meet annual and long-term fundraising goals for Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, and other campaigns.
• Oversee and direct fundraising activities including annual giving, capital campaigns, and other projects.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and close donations to the school.
• Match donor interests with school needs and priorities.
• Design and manage fundraising activities including endowments and campaigns.
• Identify and close major/planned gifts ($10,000+).
• Meet development goals and metrics with donor meetings and solicitations.
• Develop Planned Giving programs.
• Build relationships with giving prospects.
• Supervise donor and gift record-keeping.
• Attend school events to meet potential donors.
• Collaborate with System Development to foster campus-wide fundraising.
• Assist in all Development activities as needed.
