Job summary

Art Enables, a gallery and vocational arts program in Washington, DC, seeks a Development and Communications Manager to lead fundraising and communications efforts. The role reports to the Executive Director and works closely with staff to align storytelling with fundraising goals.

The candidate will drive development strategy, manage donor relations, and oversee communications calendars and external materials, while engaging with artists and programs to showcase impact.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years nonprofit development experience.
• Experience with donor CRMs (Salesforce) and fundraising campaigns.
• Ability to collect and tell artist/program stories for fundraising.
• Comfort working with individuals with disabilities.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update development strategy in collaboration with the ED.
• Manage donor pipeline, grants, and current donors to meet revenue goals.
• Lead all grant writing and reporting.
• Manage development operations and revenue tracking in CRM systems.
• Routinely update donor stewardship plans and materials.
• Develop and share Art Enables’ organizational messaging and stories.
