Job summary

Reporting to the Development Director, this position emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration with the team to deepen donor engagement and grow general philanthropic support.

Qualifications

  • Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle donor information appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Enter gifts and donor records in Bloomerang/CRM and track campaigns.
  • Reconcile revenue with Bookkeeper and Controller.
  • Maintain donor databases and ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare IRS-compliant acknowledgement letters.
  • Assist with online fundraising and Giving Tuesday.
  • Support development events, auctions, and lists.
  • Greet visitors and maintain a welcoming on-site environment.
  • Maintain files per retention policies and data standards.
  • Coordinate with Development Director and teams.

Job description

Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula

This is a non-exempt, part-time position, reporting to the Development Director.

Summary:

The Development Coordinator advances the mission of Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula by managing donor data and donation recognition processes, as well as supporting general fundraising efforts. The role maintains the accuracy and integrity of all development records, assists with donor relations, and provides essential administrative and logistical support for fundraising, special events, and campaigns. The Development Coordinator works closely with the Development Director, Development Team, and Finance Team to deepen donor engagement and grow general philanthropic support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Bloomerang/CRM user for gift entry, donor records, letter generation, reporting, and campaign tracking
  • Work closely with the Bookkeeper and Controller to ensure accurate and timely revenue reconciliation
  • Troubleshoot Bloomerang/CRM software issues using software tools and online knowledgebase
  • Maintain development procedure manuals and ensure adherence to data standards and style guides
  • Manage donor, event, and external mailing databases for accuracy, completeness, and formatting
  • Update constituent records for accuracy
  • Maintain organized digital and physical development files per retention policies
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive donor information
  • Assist with online fundraising initiatives, including Giving Tuesday, monthly giving, and digital appeals
  • Prepare and send accurate IRS-compliant acknowledgement letters
  • Support solicitation and invitation lists for all development events
  • Track, organize, and support silent and live auction items and packages for all development events
Additional Duties
  • Provide general support to Development Team
  • Greet visitors on site; answer questions and introduce guests to other staff when appropriate
  • At all times maintain a pleasant, courteous, and tactful attitude with the public
  • Be knowledgeable and adhere to the goals and objectives of MOWMP including Compass of Care
  • Educate the public when and where appropriate to the mission and goals of the MOWMP
  • Adhere to the high standard of transparency and integrity with staff, volunteers, and donors, etc.
  • Actively work to maintain a warm and welcoming environment for all volunteers and staff
  • Support Griffin Gazette newsletter as needed
Required Skills and Experience
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-through abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic CRM tools
  • Clean driving record and insurability to drive company vehicles
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations
  • Typical office environment with moderate to low noise
  • Moderate use of computer keyboard and monitor for extended periods
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, twist, and reach for moderate periods of time
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally (event supplies, materials, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving program needs
  • Some exposure to kitchen environments (hot/cold temperatures, wet floors, noise, cleaning products)
  • Occasional evenings or weekends required to support events and program needs

Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule
  • Work 20-25 hours per week, M-F
  • Hourly rate of $24/per
