College Possible Texas is seeking a Development Capacity Builder VISTA to strengthen fundraising, communications, and volunteer engagement. You will develop digital content and support community partnerships to raise the organization's profile.

This is a one-year, full-time national service position with hybrid work and some evening/weekend hours. You will create content, coordinate events, and help build sustainable processes for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, public administration, or sociology.
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Interest in education, nonprofits, fundraising, and community engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace; experience with social media or communication tools is a plus.

Development Capacity Builder VISTA – College Possible Texas

Organization Overview

College Possible Texas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students achieve their college goals by opening up opportunities. Through innovative coaching and data-informed support, we work to ensure students not only access college but also persist and graduate.

Position Summary

As the Development Capacity Builder VISTA, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the communications, volunteer engagement, and fundraising systems that support our mission. You will help tell the story of College Possible Texas through digital content and community engagement while building sustainable processes that increase organizational visibility and long-term support.

Key Responsibilities

Create and manage social media, blog, and e-news content that highlights student impact and organizational initiatives

Support storytelling efforts by developing compelling written and visual content for community and donor engagement

Assist with volunteer engagement activities, including event coordination, onboarding materials, and tracking systems

Help strengthen fundraising and outreach efforts through campaign support, donor communications, and community partnerships

Develop systems and resources that improve communication workflows and volunteer engagement sustainability

College Possible Texas is a dynamic, progressive, and youth-focused working environment. This is a hybrid role with some in-person requirements. Responsibilities may frequently require an adjusted work schedule and/or evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines or satisfy program requirements. While performing the duties of this position, the member is regularly required to engage in digital content creation and access information using a computer for several hours at a time. The role requires mobility to assist with on‑site volunteer events and to transport materials for community engagement.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (fields such as communications, marketing, public administration, or sociology preferred)

Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills

Interest in education, nonprofits, fundraising, and community engagement

Comfort managing multiple projects and collaborating across teams

Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail

Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; experience with social media or communication tools a plus
