College Possible Texas is seeking a Development Capacity Builder VISTA to strengthen communications, volunteer engagement, and fundraising systems that support our mission. You will help tell the story of College Possible Texas through digital content and community engagement while building sustainable processes to increase organizational visibility and long-term support.

This is a hybrid role with some in-person requirements, and occasional evenings or weekend hours may be needed to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (communications, marketing, public administration, or sociology preferred).
• Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
• Interest in education, nonprofits, fundraising, and community engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage social media, blog, and e-news content highlighting student impact and organizational initiatives.
• Support storytelling by developing compelling written and visual content for donor engagement.
• Assist with volunteer engagement activities, including event coordination, onboarding materials, and tracking systems.
• Strengthen fundraising and outreach through campaign support, donor communications, and partnerships.
• Develop systems and resources to improve communication workflows and volunteer engagement sustainability.

Position Summary

As the Development Capacity Builder VISTA, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the communications, volunteer engagement, and fundraising systems that support our mission. You will help tell the story of College Possible Texas through digital content and community engagement while building sustainable processes that increase organizational visibility and long-term support.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage social media, blog, and e-news content that highlights student impact and organizational initiatives
• Support storytelling efforts by developing compelling written and visual content for community and donor engagement
• Assist with volunteer engagement activities, including event coordination, onboarding materials, and tracking systems
• Help strengthen fundraising and outreach efforts through campaign support, donor communications, and community partnerships
• Develop systems and resources that improve communication workflows and volunteer engagement sustainability

Work Environment

College Possible Texas is a dynamic, progressive, and youth-focused working environment. This is a hybrid role with some in-person requirements. Responsibilities may frequently require an adjusted work schedule and/or evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines or satisfy program requirements. While performing the duties of this position, the member is regularly required to engage in digital content creation and access information using a computer for several hours at a time. The role requires mobility to assist with on-site volunteer events and to transport materials for community engagement.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (fields such as communications, marketing, public administration, or sociology preferred)
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills
• Interest in education, nonprofits, fundraising, and community engagement
• Comfort managing multiple projects and collaborating across teams
• Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; experience with social media or communication tools a plus
• Must have reliable transportation
