Job summary

New York University is seeking a Development Associate within University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) to support fundraising strategies and manage donor engagement across schools, starting with Steinhardt. The role will work with frontline fundraisers to cultivate prospects, draft proposals, and coordinate stewardship for gifts and scholarships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2+ years experience with public relations, client relations, fundraising, or corporate marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years experience in an academic environment.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills; strong analytical and project management abilities.
  • Ability to plan and implement events.

Responsibilities

  • Support development strategies to build prospect pools and donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with Prospect Development and Research teams.
  • Draft correspondence, proposals, and gift agreements.
  • Assist with Dean's Council meetings, committees, receptions, and events.
  • Manage stewardship process for Steinhardt donors.
  • Coordinate and acknowledge gifts and pledges; maintain donor communications.
