Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Development Associate-Government Relations to manage government grants and contracts, coordinate budgets, and support audits. The role reports to the Manager of Grants and Planned Giving and requires collaboration with program and finance staff to ensure timely reports and compliance.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in nonprofit development, strong writing and research skills, and comfort navigating government portals.

Reporting to the Manager of Grants and Planned Giving, the Development Associate is responsible for preparing, submitting and reporting on all government grants/contracts for the organization and maintaining the government grants calendar. The Associate will also work with finance staff on contract/grant budget creation, budget revisions, coordination of audits, and audit responses.
1-2 years of non-profit development or relevant experience, government contract experience a plus. First-hand experience with disability preferred. Excellent writing, organizational, communication and research skills; ability to work independently with efficiency and accuracy; ability to deal effectively with people; basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Nothing unusual.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Word processing, excel spreadsheets, and government portals.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Access Living operates in a hybrid work environment, with staff expected to work in the office at least two days per week, including mandatory in-office Coordinated Days for all staff, departments, and teams.
SALARY RANGE: $61,000-$64,000 plus benefits
