Job summary

Healthcare Alternative Systems, Inc. (HAS) seeks a Development Associate to support fundraising operations, donor relations, gift processing, grants administration, and development communications.

You will ensure accurate data, timely donor touchpoints, and reliable weekly outputs while helping to build the Development Department's infrastructure. The role requires strong writing, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in nonprofit administration, development, fundraising, or related field with exposure to donor relations, gifts, or grants.
• Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems and comfort entering, managing, and reporting data.
• Familiarity with project management systems and standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
• Strong writing and editing skills with ability to translate program work into donor communications.
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, self-motivated environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfort juggling multiple priorities and improving systems, templates, and workflows.
• Proactive and resourceful, able to anticipate needs and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Donor Relations & Database Management across HAS CRM system.
• Process incoming gifts and pledges; prepare timely acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
• Maintain donor and gift records; data entry, updates, and regular clean-up.
• Track donor touchpoints, deadlines, and follow-up tasks for timely stewardship.
• Support donor stewardship with thank-you communications and impact updates.
• Generate fundraising reports, gift summaries, and constituent lists for appeals and leadership review.
• Maintain organized records and systems for the development function.
• Assist with prospect research on individuals, foundations, and corporate funders.
