Job summary

Urban Institute’s Development Department seeks a Development Associate (Individual Fundraising) to support donor engagement, fundraising strategies, and day-to-day operations. Reporting to a Senior Director, you will help coordinate engagement with individual donors and the Board of Trustees, shaping meaningful fundraising initiatives.

The role emphasizes portfolio management, prospect research, Salesforce tracking, meeting preparation, and collaboration across leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–4 years of professional fundraising or related experience preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit development, donor stewardship, or advancement services is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop donor engagement and fundraising strategies with leadership.
• Support donor engagements, stewardship, and board communications.
• Coordinate planning, research, and materials for donor meetings and solicitations.
• Manage donor portfolios and prepare performance reports with leadership.
