Job summary

Meadows & Ohly, LLC is hiring a Development Associate in Alpharetta, GA to support healthcare construction and facility development projects. You will work with Development Managers and stakeholders, handling documentation, budgeting, scheduling, contracts, permitting, procurement, and team coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction, project management, development, architecture, or a related industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction project delivery, development processes, contract administration, and construction terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to learn PM platforms such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, e-Builder.

Responsibilities

  • Support Development Managers and regional teams in healthcare construction and outpatient development projects.
  • Prepare, organize, and track project documentation (drawings, specs, budgets, schedules, contracts, meeting minutes).
  • Assist with budgeting, cost estimates, bid evaluations, and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate communications among clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Participate in project site visits, meetings, design reviews, and progress discussions.
  • Assist with contract administration, permitting, procurement, invoice review, and closeout.
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, presentations, and supporting materials; maintain records.
  • Support departmental initiatives and strategic projects while managing competing priorities.

Position Overview:

The Development Associate supports the planning, execution, and administration of healthcare construction and facility development projects. Working closely with Development Managers and project stakeholders, this role provides hands‑on support throughout the project lifecycle, including project documentation, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, permitting, procurement, and coordination of project teams and activities.

This position is designed for an individual who is interested in developing a long‑term career in healthcare construction, development, and program management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, a willingness to learn, and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, design professionals, consultants, and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Development Managers and regional teams in the implementation of short- and long-term healthcare construction and outpatient development projects.
  • Prepare, organize, and track project documentation, including drawings, specifications, RFPs/RFQs, budgets, schedules, contracts, meeting minutes, action items, and project reports.
  • Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, competitive bid evaluations, negotiated pricing, and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate communications among clients, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Participate in project site visits, construction meetings, owner meetings, design reviews, and project progress discussions.
  • Assist with contract administration, permitting, procurement, invoice review, payment applications, lien waivers, change documentation, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate project meetings, schedules, agendas, presentations, and supporting materials while maintaining organized project records.
  • Support departmental initiatives, business development efforts, strategic planning, and operational improvement projects while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction, project management, development, architecture, engineering, or a related industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction project delivery, development processes, contract administration, and construction terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to learn project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Timeline, Smartsheet, and e-Builder.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team; willingness to travel as required.
