Job description

Position Summary:

The Development Assistant plays a critical supporting role in advancing CRCI’s mission through hands-on experience in nonprofit development work. This staff member will assist with day-to-day operations across multiple functions including administrative tasks, data entry, volunteer engagement, outreach, and fundraising event support. As a liaison between Program Services and the Development Team, the assistant will also help ensure strong communication and collaboration across departments. This position is ideal for a resident exploring a career path in nonprofit development, communications, or community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative & CRM Support

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Bloomerang for Stanly County contacts, partners, churches, donors, volunteers, and community connections.

Document significant interactions, meetings, visits, and relationship activity in Bloomerang.

Input and maintain relevant calendars, tours, meetings, and other activities in the CRM as appropriate.

Track follow-up opportunities and ensure important relationship touchpoints are not missed.

Maintain accurate mailing lists, event information, donation records, and volunteer information.

Maintain adequate supplies and assemble outreach materials for distribution; ensure offsite locations are consistently stocked with current information.

Provide administrative support to the Development Director, Development Manager, Brand Manager, Major Gifts Officer, and Volunteer Coordinator.

  • Church & Community Relationship Support

Support weekly follow-up with churches following CRCI visits, presentations, and other engagements.

Schedule church visits as needed and maintain communication with staff and other participants regarding upcoming visits.

Ensure churches, donors, community partners, and other contacts receive timely follow-up after meetings, visits, and events.

Prepare and mail personalized handwritten thank-you notes.

Maintain accurate interaction records in the CRM.

Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with churches and community partners in Stanly County.

  • Volunteer & Committee Support

Develop a strong network of volunteers and volunteer-led activities.

Recruit and place volunteers for events, committees, activities, and other CRCI needs.

Maintain volunteer communication, scheduling, check-ins, assignments, and follow-up.

Help maintain accurate volunteer records and engagement information.

Communicate volunteer needs and requests as directed.

Build event committees by identifying individuals with relevant skills, connections, and community influence.

Act as a liaison between Program Services and the Development Team regarding volunteer needs and opportunities.

Provide administrative, logistical, and on-site support for CRCI events in Stanly County.

Follow up with venues and vendors as needed and as directed by the Event Coordinator.

Coordinate with event committees according to established timelines and floorplans.

Assist with floorplans, event logistics, vendor needs, signage, registration, materials, and other event details.

Participate in committee meetings leading up to events and provide day-of event support.

Responsible to serve as volunteer point of contact- major event role for this position, outside Event Coordinator

Assist with setup and coordination of volunteers and participants during events.

Assist with post-event data entry and follow-up communications.

  • Outreach & Communications Support

Assist with the creation and distribution of thank-you letters, donor communications, newsletters, direct mailings, and community updates.

Support the Brand Strategist in gathering and organizing stories, photographs, quotes, and other content that demonstrates CRCI’s mission and impact.

Help prepare content for newsletters, social media, and other community communications.

Create social media and other recurring content under the direction of the Brand Manager.

Assist with organizing and distributing recurring mailings, including newsletters and direct mailers.

Support the collection of impact stories, photos, and testimonies from residents and community programs.

Other Duties as Assigned.

Requirements

Being that CRCI is a Christian ministry that represents the fundamental ideology of a Christian Recovery Center, all Resident Care staff should live in a way that sets a positive example to residents and to the community. Staff members should display these positive traits both on and off the clock. Due to the nature of this example, applicants who wish to join the resident care staff are required to meet the following criteria:

Examples of unhealthy lifestyles include, but are not limited to, the following:

? Drinking alcohol in excess or in public view

? Abuse of OTC and prescription medications

Applicants must have abstained from the use of Illegal Drugs for at least 3 months prior to application in order to be eligible for hire. A drug, alcohol, and nicotine screening will be conducted during the interview process. Applicants also attest that they have not abused legal drugs, such as prescriptions or over-the-counter medication, or alcohol for at least the 3 months prior to application in order to be eligible for employment.
