Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Development Assistant to support the development team with administrative tasks, travel and expense management, communications, events, and scheduling. The role reports to the Assistant Dean of Development and will engage with university and external partners from multiple levels.

This is a 40-hour per week, temporary staff position located in North Carolina.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for travel and expense management, communications, events, scheduling, briefings, and other duties as assigned.
  • Support a team of development officers and coordinate communication with various university and external constituents at multiple levels.
  • Perform an extensive range of highly visible activities related to scheduling and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Position Summary

The Development Assistant will report to the Assistant Dean of Development and support a team of development officers. The duties include administrative support for travel and expense management, communications, events, scheduling, briefings, and other duties as assigned. The position will perform an extensive range of highly visible activities such as communication with various university and external constituents at multiple levels.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Management Preferences
  • Experience with calendaring and scheduling
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
  • Work experience within a higher education public institution
  • Excellent external communication skills
