The role is 30 hours per week minimum (with potential for 35–36 hours) and may be shared between two specialists.
Newly launched luxury womenswear brand is seeking a highly capable, part-time team member with strong expertise in both the 180 degrees process from development and sampling to production and manufacturing.
This role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week (30 hrs guaranteed, with the capacity for up to 35/36 hours). It could also be a part-time job share between two people who have different skills sets, capabilities and areas of expertise.
Development and sampling, along with small-batch production, is based in NYC.
The successful candidate needs to have an established hands‑on working knowledge of NYC’s garment district, solid contact list / established relationships with local suppliers & vendors (pattern makers, sample rooms, technical designers, trim makers and beyond) and a demonstrated track record of maintaining positive working relationships and building goodwill for/with clients within the creative/fashion maker community in NYC.
Some production is done offshore, so experience in liaising with international vendors, suppliers and partners (from fabric mills and trim suppliers through to high-end manufacturers) including ordering and landing fabrics, receiving goods and materials, sourcing and procurement, etc. outside of the US is necessary.
A strong understanding of premium garment development( immaculate finishing techniques, luxury-level construction, artisanal treatments and techniques, lap dipping for custom colors, etc.) is essential.

While this is a new brand, our team has extensive experience in the international fashion community and an inspiring line‑up of global creatives who make up the extended ‘at large’ founding team who are working with us to bring it to life, so you won’t need to do any hand‑holding or deal with clueless, disorganized clients (we know you’ve had your fair share!). Instead we’re looking for a highly organized, radically collaborative development and production team member who can come on board alongside us and help us get the collections created, made and out in the world.
Location: Downtown NYC. Our office is located in the WSA building.
We offer a flexible schedule with the ability to accommodate other commitments/clients, though the lion 's share of this work is ‘on the tools’ and in IRL. This is not a remote or WFH role.
Start date: September 2026
Scope: Freelance or Part-Time (with opportunity to expand scope into full-time for the right candidate)
Rate: Hourly, commensurate with experience
