Job summary

North Idaho College is seeking a Development and Grants Specialist to identify funding opportunities, develop competitive proposals, and help manage grants that strengthen programs and advance institutional priorities.

You will research funding sources, prepare grant proposals, and coordinate submissions while collaborating with faculty, staff, and community partners to support compliance, reporting, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and a minimum of two years full-time equivalent related experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research public and private funding opportunities and prepare compelling grant proposals and supporting communications.
  • Coordinate submission and acceptance of external funding awards and manage post-award activities.
  • Maintain grant records, update department websites, and ensure compliance with grant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and community partners to identify funding needs and improve processes.

Help advance North Idaho College's mission by securing resourcesthat create opportunities for students, strengthen academicprograms, and support the college's strategic priorities. As theDevelopment and Grants Specialist, you'll play an integralrole in identifying funding opportunities, developing competitiveproposals, and supporting the successful management of grants andphilanthropic resources that make a lasting impact across theinstitution.

In this role, you'll research public and private fundingopportunities, prepare compelling grant proposals and supportingcommunications, and coordinate the submission and acceptance ofexternal funding awards. You'll collaborate with faculty, staff,and community partners to identify funding needs, guide internalstakeholders through grant and fundraising processes, and supportpost-award activities, including compliance, reporting,documentation, and deadline tracking. You'll also help maintaingrant and development records, update department websites, supportemployee training on grant policies and procedures, and recommendprocess improvements that enhance efficiency and institutionaleffectiveness.

We're looking for a collaborative professional with exceptionalwriting, editing, and communication skills who enjoys buildingrelationships and managing multiple projects. The ideal candidateis organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance administrativeresponsibilities with analytical thinking and problem-solving.Success in this role requires strong research skills, the abilityto translate ideas into compelling proposals, and a commitment toaccuracy, stewardship, and compliance. Starting pay range: $44,995 - $53,994

Pay Grade: P4

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus

Work Schedule: typical college hours are Mon-Thurs7:30-5:00, Fri 7:30-2:30

Employment is contingent upon successful completion ofbackground check and proof of degree if required for thisposition.
