About the Position

We are searching for a Development + Community Engagement Manager to join our team with a specific focus on our signature program, the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center (SNMVC). This is a rare opportunity to raise transformational support for a vital organization pivoting toward a bold future. This position builds support for our shoreline habitat including CRM management, MailChimp and membership list management, tracking of all donation points, donor acknowledgement and communication, prospecting, developing donor engagement prep documents, and light accounting support to carry out the mission of Pride Live and specifically the SNMVC. This position will achieve ambitious goals to boost financial support and engagement and increase visibility and interest for our mission and programs with a drive to support build strategic partnerships, identify, and cultivate prospects, identify and cultivate community partnerships, and lead data connectivity including membership development, data collection, reporting and analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow donor support to achieve income goals, through research, customized cultivation, and direct solicitation of current and new accounts.
  • Develop and execute customized engagement plans and presentation materials for a portfolio of potential and existing donors corporate and community partners, including employee volunteer activities, giving campaigns, and event sponsorships.
  • Produce dashboards tracking key performance indicators and produce regular reports analyzing the Visitor Center’s impact and effectiveness.
  • Collect data and develop, consolidate, and maintain databases of any and all information that is useful for evaluating the Visitor Center’s impact.
  • Foundation Philanthropy & Support including assist on stewardship, cultivation, and communications with portfolio of donors; support institutional philanthropy donor research, evaluate findings, and make recommendations to identify prospects and leads.
  • Maintain and update robust supporter database, including donor accounts and activities, contacts, grant deadlines, and gift information; help create and generate reports and manage the collection and flow of all related data.
  • Assist with drafting and editing grant project budgets, donor stewardship communications, grant proposals, and other materials; other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Foundation Philanthropy & Support including assist on stewardship, cultivation, and communications with portfolio of corporate and foundation donors; support institutional philanthropy donor research, evaluate findings, and make recommendations to identify prospects and leads.
  • Maintain and update robust supporter database, including donor accounts and activities, contacts, grant deadlines, and gift information; help create and generate reports and manage the collection and flow of all related data.
  • Prepare invoices, letters, reports, and other documentation for institutional funders, coordinating with the Finance team.
  • Assist with drafting and editing grant project budgets, donor stewardship communications, grant proposals, and other materials; other duties and projects as assigned.
  • On site operations support at the SNMVC at least one day a week and least one weekend a month.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • 4-6 years’ experience in nonprofit partnership and/or community partnership work
  • Comprehensive background with Bloomerang, PayPal, Mailchimp, Text 2 Give, Stripe or other CRM applications and with MS Office or equivalent
  • Experience maintaining and updating databases and KPI dashboards
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and oral); timely follow up on tasks
  • Ability to work with diverse communities
  • Strong interpersonal, planning and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • We are specifically looking for candidates with an active interest in the LGBTQ+ community, and/or social justice
  • Must be committed to working with people in the LGBTQ+ community in a way that affirms dignity and humanity
Salary & Benefits
  • This is a full‑time salaried position, ranging from $62k-66k annually , commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Pride Live offers a competitive benefits package.
  • This position will work remotely much of the time but must live in the New York City area and be available for on‑site meetings and to support fundraising and other in‑person events, including those outside of regular business hours including working in an operational capacity at the Visitor Center at least one day a week, and one weekend a month.
