Job Description

Senior Full Stack Developer – Inflight Digital Technology

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Inflight Digital Technology team and help design, build, and evolve digital products that support frontline employees and inflight operations.

This role will work across the full technology stack, from intuitive user experiences to backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and data. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on senior engineer who can take ownership of complex capabilities from concept through production while partnering closely with product managers, architects, designers, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams.

The developer will contribute across products in our inflight digital portfolio, supporting capabilities such as operational tools, and emerging AI experiences.

What You'll Do
Full-Stack Engineering
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable applications and services.
  • Build modern, responsive user experiences using React, React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Develop backend services and APIs using technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python, or comparable enterprise frameworks.
  • Design and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, event‑driven services, and enterprise integrations.
  • Develop reusable components and common services that can be leveraged across multiple inflight products.
  • Work effectively within existing enterprise applications and safely modernize legacy capabilities.
Mobile & Frontline Experiences
  • Develop solutions optimized for mobile and tablet experiences used by frontline employees.
  • Build resilient experiences that account for limited connectivity, intermittent networks, data synchronization, and operational environments.
  • Consider usability, accessibility, performance, battery/network utilization, and device constraints when designing solutions.
  • Collaborate with UX and product partners to translate frontline workflows into simple digital experiences.
Cloud & Architecture
  • Design and develop cloud-native services using AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Build scalable APIs, serverless services, microservices, asynchronous processing, and data integrations.
  • Apply modern architectural patterns that improve scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and observability.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical design decisions.
  • Contribute to modernization efforts and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
Modern senior full‑stack roles increasingly combine frontend/backend engineering with AWS architectures, API/microservice patterns, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, containerization, automated testing, and production optimization. Senior Full Stack Developer – React, Node, AWS & Agentic AI
DevSecOps & Operational Excellence
  • Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement unit, integration, API, and automated end‑to‑end testing.
  • Incorporate security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support production deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Use application telemetry and observability to proactively identify reliability and performance issues.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote engineering standards across the team.
  • Design solutions with resiliency and operational supportability in mind.
Data, Analytics & AI
  • Instrument applications to capture meaningful adoption, feature usage, performance, and user‑interaction telemetry.
  • Partner with product teams to ensure technology decisions can be informed by measurable product data.
  • Integrate AI‑powered capabilities and enterprise AI services where appropriate.
  • Develop APIs and services that enable AI assistants, search, summarization, and workflow automation.
  • Use AI‑assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
AI‑assisted development is also appearing in senior engineering expectations, including tools such as GitHub Copilot and managed AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock. Senior Full Stack Developer – React, Node, AWS & Agentic AI
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands‑on full‑stack development experience.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React or React Native.
  • Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Java, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and distributed services.
  • Experience designing production solutions using AWS or another major cloud platform.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and object‑oriented/design principles.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, secure coding, and application security.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production applications.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with product, architecture, UX, engineering, and business partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing enterprise mobile applications using React Native, iOS/Swift, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience supporting frontline, field, airline, travel, transportation, or other operational applications.
  • AWS certification or equivalent cloud experience.
  • Experience with serverless and event‑driven architectures.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
  • Experience implementing application telemetry and product analytics.
  • Experience integrating generative AI, LLM APIs, RAG/search solutions, or enterprise AI services.
  • Experience with offline‑first application patterns and synchronization.
  • Experience with accessibility standards and building inclusive digital experiences.
What Success Looks Like
  • Owns features end‑to‑end, not just frontend or backend tickets.
  • Builds products that remain reliable in the realities of airline operations.
  • Thinks about the flight attendant/frontline employee experience while making technical decisions.
  • Produces secure, maintainable, well‑tested code.
  • Uses telemetry and user behavior to improve products after launch.
  • Raises the engineering bar through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and technical leadership.
  • Balances speed of delivery with security, architecture, resiliency, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Looks for opportunities to use AI, automation, and reusable platforms to accelerate the broader Inflight portfolio.
