Job summary
Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu, seeks a Developer Relations Engineer ready to influence and engage open-source communities worldwide. You will blend software engineering with strategic communication, helping developers build on Canonical products across cloud, IoT, and data science.
You will speak publicly, contribute to documentation, and partner with product teams to improve the developer experience. Travel globally twice a year is expected.
Qualifications
- Proven software development experience and passion for open-source software.
- Hands-on Linux experience with packaging and deployment workflows.
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Track record of contributing to open-source communities or projects.
Responsibilities
- participate in product strategy and development discussions at multiple levels.
- engage with developer communities via IRC, forums, social channels and events.
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to align developer experience with product goals.
- resolve technical problems reported by users or colleagues.
- contribute to developer documentation and create technical content.
- develop articles, presentations or workshops for developers.
- identify opportunities to improve developer experience and tooling.
