Job summary

Prefect is hiring a Developer Relations Engineer to own how developers learn to build with Prefect, Dagster FastMCP and Horizon. You will shape demos, reference implementations, and DX improvements while maintaining a public presence across talks and videos.

You’ll write Python, create production-ready examples, and contribute to docs and community content as a hands-on contributor in a remote-first environment across the continental US.

Qualifications

• 6+ years writing software, strong Python desired.
• A public body of technical work (repos, posts, docs, talks, videos).
• Experience with LLMs and agents (MCP servers, tool calling, agent frameworks).
• Strong on-camera and public speaking potential; capable of being watched.
• Ability to work as a solo contributor and ship with honest results.

Responsibilities

• Ship reference implementations developers copy and run in production.
• Teach people about agentic workflows through demos, posts, talks, and video.
• Make video a channel we’re good at, owning on-camera content and formats.
• Improve DX by being the first user, filing issues, and contributing docs.
• Represent us in public: talks, livestreams, and community engagement.
• Provide market feedback to drive product improvements.
