OpenRouter, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer for the Developer Products team to build surfaces for external developers—APIs, SDKs, docs, CLI, and tools. You’ll shape how agents interact with our platform and guide the developer ecosystem as we scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building external-facing developer products—APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms widely used by engineers.
• Strong API and SDK design instincts; shipped libraries developers integrate with.
• Strong TypeScript skills; TypeScript shop across the stack.
• AI-forward mindset; interest in agentic systems and autonomous tooling.
• High agency with a bias toward shipping impactful features.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve public REST API and developer experience, including design, versioning, errors, and rate-limiting.
• Build and maintain client SDKs across TypeScript and Python; lead launches of future SDKs.
• Ship Agent SDK and expand it for multi-step, agentic workloads.
• Treat docs, examples, and starter repos as products to optimize onboarding.
• Make developer surfaces agent-friendly for AI coding agents using our APIs and SDKs.
• Collaborate with DevRel, Product and Platform to close gaps in the ecosystem.
