Advanced Systems Design, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Developer (MUMPS) to support VA mission-critical systems within the Patient Care product line and work from home.

You will design, develop, test, and support VistA/MUMPS integrations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help ensure secure, reliable software across the full lifecycle. Applicants should have 5+ years in VistA/MUMPS or related health IT, experience with patch processes, and the ability to obtain government credentials.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of VistA, MUMPS, Cache/IRIS, or comparable health IT development experience.
• Hands-on MUMPS and VistA conventions experience.
• Experience with patch creation, release, packaging, and verification process.
• Experience with healthcare workflows (e-prescribing or clinical applications) preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government credentials (e.g., PIV).

• Analyze existing code and workflows, implement maintainable enhancements within VistA conventions.

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Developer, Mid (MUMPS) for our client.

This is a work-from-home opportunity.

The Challenge

The Clozapine Decom REMS team supports mission-critical capabilities for the Department of Veterans Affairs within the Patient Care product line. As a Developer, mid (MUMPS), you will help deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions across the full software lifecycle. You will work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate mission needs into measurable outcomes, manage technical and delivery risks, and support high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support VistA/MUMPS integrations, routines, globals, and application components as applicable.
• Analyze existing code and workflows, implement maintainable enhancements, and preserve compatibility with established VistA conventions.
• Support database and interface changes, data validation, patch creation, packaging, release, installation, and post-deployment verification.
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, infrastructure teams, and VA stakeholders to resolve defects and operational issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment evidence, test results, and sustainment procedures.

Must Have

• 5+ years of VistA, MUMPS, Cache/IRIS, or comparable clinical/government health IT development experience.
• Hands-on experience with MUMPS and VistA conventions, data structures, interfaces, testing, and production support.
• Experience with patch creation and the VistA patch release, packaging, installation, and verification process.
• Experience with healthcare, pharmacy, medication-management, e-prescribing, or other clinical application workflows is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required government credentials, including a PIV where applicable.

Nice If You Have

• Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs, federal health IT, or other regulated healthcare programs.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, Microsoft 365, and collaborative Agile delivery tools.
• Experience with VistA patch development and release processes, InterSystems IRIS, MUMPS, or VA Pharmacy applications.
