Job summary

PlanetScale is seeking a technical educator to help developers grasp relational databases, scaling, and modern data platforms. You will create tutorials, write docs, host livestreams, and present at events, with travel about 20–50%.

You will build engaging content for engineers, contribute to product documentation, and speak at conferences while collaborating with a global developer community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in engineering, solution architecture, technical education, or developer relations.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Proven ability to create technical content (blogs, tutorials, docs, or presentations).
• Experience speaking at conferences or hosting technical events.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; able to simplify complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Produce tutorials, articles, examples, and other technical content for developers and engineers.
• Explain how PostgreSQL, MySQL, database scaling systems, and related platform capabilities work.
• Create, maintain, and improve product documentation.
• Speak at conferences and events for technical audiences.
• Host livestreams, webinars, and educational sessions for the developer community.
• Build relationships with developers and experiment with new approaches to technical education.
